How to grow on YouTube in 2026
YouTube is two platforms in one. Shorts behave like Instagram reels: fast, vertical and built for discovery. Long videos behave like search: people find them by asking a question, and a good one can keep bringing views for years. The brands that win in 2026 use both, and they do not need a separate shoot for each.
Start with Shorts
If you already make reels, you already have Shorts. Reuse your best vertical videos on YouTube with a clear title and no other app's watermark. Shorts are the easiest way to test which ideas work and to bring in your first subscribers. The same rules apply as on Instagram: a strong hook in the first two seconds, one idea per video and real places and people on screen.
Add long videos that answer real questions
Think about what people search before they buy from you. A family planning a weekend stay searches for villa tours. A parent looking at coaching searches for reviews and results. A patient searches for what a procedure feels like. Make one video for each of these questions:
- Tours and walkthroughs of your rooms, space, property or store.
- Answers to the five questions customers ask you most often.
- Stories from founders, staff and happy customers.
- Behind the scenes of how you make, cook, build or serve.
Plan one shoot, cut many videos
The smart way to do YouTube is to plan it with the rest of your content. One well planned shoot day can give you a long walkthrough, several Shorts, reels for Instagram and ad cuts. Our reels and video shoot crew plans shot lists this way, and for launches and big campaigns our ad film production team builds fully scripted brand films with platform cuts.
Titles, thumbnails and descriptions matter
On YouTube, people decide whether to click based on a title and a thumbnail. Write titles the way people search: "Luxury villa in Jaipur for a weekend stay" beats "Our new video". Use a bright, clear thumbnail with one face or one strong image and very few words. In the description, add your location, a short summary, your WhatsApp or booking link and a few timestamps. This also helps Google and AI assistants understand your business, which ties in with our Google Business and AEO work.
A posting rhythm that is realistic
- 2 to 3 Shorts a week, cut from your regular reel shoots.
- 1 to 2 long videos a month, each one answering a real customer question.
- Playlists that group your videos by topic, so viewers keep watching.
- Replies to comments, because questions under a video often turn into enquiries.
Use YouTube ads with care
Short video ads on YouTube are good for awareness and remarketing, especially for hotels, education and premium products. Keep them under 30 seconds, show the brand early, and send viewers to a clear next step. We plan these alongside Meta and Google search campaigns in our performance marketing work.
What to measure
- Views and watch time, to see which topics hold attention.
- Click through rate on thumbnails, to know if titles and images work.
- Subscribers gained per video.
- Link clicks, calls and enquiries that mention a video.
Most of your short content can also run on Instagram, so plan both together.
